We will be offering a tasting menu only, which will be 5 or 9 courses at lunch, and the full 9 courses at dinner.

Mark Poynton opens MJP Restaurant
Mark got the keys right at the beginning of Lockdown 1.
We opened in August 2020 to rave reviews for its simple, flavour driven, small plate concept.
The Shepherds was included in the Michelin Guide, and has been featured in various national papers including the Sunday Times Top 100 Places for Sunday Lunch in 2022.

Caistor Hall by Brasteds is a Country House Hotel less than 10 minutes from Norwich, surrounded by beautiful farmland, walks, and spectacular grounds.
At Mark Poynton at Caistor Hall we take influence from all our local surroundings and suppliers, be it Bungay butter from Fen Farm Dairy, to Binham Blue cheese from Mrs Temple.
Throughout the menus we have created you will see local suppliers and produce across the seasons while also using the best produce from around the world, to give you the best meal we can.
Mark And Nick (Owner of Caistor Hall) have used the venue and surroundings to make Mark Poynton at Caistor Hall a dining room to be proud of.
Inspired by the Roman surroundings and the beautiful colours of the gardens at Caistor Hall, we teamed up with world renowned furniture maker Warings Furniture to have bespoke tables, chairs, and fabrics that show this off.
Whether you dine with us for lunch or dinner; for an anniversary, or get together; we aim to give you amazing food cooked in Mark's style of French Classics.
Inspired by his travels around some of the best restaurants and amazing markets over the last 28 years, Mark's food is his own style, but definitely influenced by his mentors 2* Michelin Daniel Clifford and the amazing Paul Kitchen of 21212 and Juniper who also held a Michelin star, but has recently passed away.
A full tasting menu with us will last up to 3hours and can be paired with wines chosen by Mark and the team.
At lunch come and join us for either our 6, or 8 course tasting menus priced at £49.50 and £78.50 respectively.
We also have a 3 course menu priced at just £35.
We serve lunch on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 12-1:30pm.
Our menus change with the seasons and while we can cater for most dietary requirements, we cannot cater for dairy free.
All dietary requirements must be highlighted to the team at least 48 hours in advance.
Any time after this we cannot guarantee we will be able to cater these needs.
